Grambling has added a multi-position prep prospect out of Arlington (Texas) High, OL/TE/DL Tajye Anderson (6-1/300).
Arlington has been perhaps the most successful football program in its district over Anderson’s time there, with three playoff berths in the last five years and a 6-4 postseason mark.
Named a 5ATexasFootball.com Player to Watch, he spent most of his career, including the bulk of the 2008 campaign, playing on the offensive line, but was switched to right end on the eve of the postseason — where he played a key role in knocking off Texas prep powerhouse Odessa in the playoffs. He also played some at defensive tackle as a junior.
Up front, Anderson helped pave the way for a couple of breakout seasons for Arlington RB Jamal Nero, who rushed for 1,127 years as a junior then averaged 6.6 yards per carry last season with 996 total.
